1. What Bookmend is

Bookmend is an AI bookmark manager, made up of a web app at bookmend.app, a Chrome extension and companion web tools. It stores the bookmarks you save or import in your account, uses AI to summarize, tag and answer questions about them, checks whether the pages they point to still work, and helps you replace dead links with archived copies. Bookmend is under active development — features, and eventually pricing, may change as the product matures.

2. Your account

Bookmend uses an account tied to a valid email address. You can try it without signing up, using a temporary anonymous library with a small bookmark limit; signing up keeps what you saved. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Bookmend to:

• — Run automated rot checks against URLs you don't own or have a right to check, at a volume intended to disrupt those servers.
• — Attempt to extract or resell Bookmend's server-side data or AI outputs in bulk.
• — Reverse-engineer the extension or web app to bypass plan limits, including daily AI limits.
• — Use the service for anything illegal in your jurisdiction.

4. Current pricing

The Free plan is the bookmark manager (saving, collections, tags, search, import and export). Premium adds AI features and link health. During early access, billing is off and every new account gets everything in Premium at no charge. We may introduce paid pricing for Premium in the future; if we do, we'll give existing users advance notice before any change that affects them, and the Free plan stays free.

5. Your content

Your bookmarks and any text Bookmend extracts from pages you've saved remain yours. We don't claim ownership over them, and we don't use them to train AI models. See our Privacy policy for exactly what's stored where.

6. Third-party services

Bookmend relies on services we don't control: AI model providers reached through OpenRouter, a reader service (Jina Reader) used to fetch some pages, and the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for recovering dead links. We aren't responsible for their availability or the content they return, and AI-generated summaries, suggestions and answers can be wrong — check the cited pages for anything important.

7. No warranty

Bookmend is provided "as is." We work hard to keep link checks and AI output accurate, but we can't guarantee every link check, archived copy or AI answer is correct. Always confirm before deleting anything you care about.

8. Termination

You can stop using Bookmend at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account, which removes your data. Export your library first if you want to keep it. We may suspend accounts that violate section 3 above.

9. Changes

We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and flag material changes in the product or by email.
