Ask a question the way you'd ask a person. Bookmend finds the saved pages that answer it and writes the answer from them, with numbered citations that open each bookmark.
Each question is turned into a search first: remembered details become filters ("last spring", "on github", "tagged recipes"), and the rest is matched by meaning against the text of your saved pages. Follow-up questions keep the thread. Questions about the library itself — your last 5 saves, how many bookmarks you have from YouTube, your most used tags, what's in a collection — are answered straight from your data, instantly and exactly.
AI tags, notes and collection suggestions
On save or edit, one click suggests tags, a short note, and which of your collections the page belongs in.
Suggestions reuse the tags you already have rather than inventing near-duplicates, and junk or overly generic tags are filtered out. The collection is picked from your own collections, or none if nothing fits — AI never creates a collection or files anything without you.
AI summaries of every page
Two to four plain sentences on what a page covers and its main points, written automatically after you save it.
Summaries show where titles don't help — the "Untitled" page, the site name, the ID-only URL — and they feed search and chat, so a page is findable by what it's about.
Search by meaning, over what the page says
"That thing about database sharding" finds the page titled "Vitess at Scale". Bookmend keeps each saved page's readable text, so AI searches the content, not only the title.
Page text is split into passages and indexed by meaning, alongside each bookmark's title, tags, summary and notes. A bookmark whose page couldn't be read is still findable by what you and the AI wrote about it.
Link health with Wayback recovery
Saved links are checked in the background. When a page dies, Bookmend finds the Internet Archive copy from when it last worked.
Checks run quietly as you use your library, at most once a day per bookmark. For a dead link, Bookmend asks the Wayback Machine for the snapshot closest to the page's last working date — not just the newest one, which may postdate its death.
